Monte was born in Missoula, MT in 1983. He lived in Ovando, MT until he graduated High School and went off to college.
At the end of his higher education he received a Bachelors in Agricultural Operations Technologies from MSU- Northern. During and after graduation he worked for Peterson Grain and Cattle in Havre, MT. In 2009 he received a job for the State of Montana DNRC. He remained at that position for nine years before having the opportunity to return to Ovando.
It has always been his desire to come home and run the ranch.

I (Whitney), was born in Hamilton, MT in 1982. I am the daughter of Reed and Cindy Mousley from Corvallis, MT. I have six other siblings. I grew up raising cattle, however not to the extent that Monte did. Throughout High School I worked with my dad in construction.
After I graduated High School I took a break before heading to college at Dawson Community where I received an Associates of Arts and Associates of Science Degrees. Monte and I were married in 2005 and I moved to Havre where he was attending college. While in Havre, I coached High School Softball and Asstistant Coached High School Volleyball.
I am thankful that it was possible for us to move back to Ovando, and that we are blessed enough to work the family ranch. Monte and I enjoy spending time together, whether it be moving cows, calving, feeding, hunting, fencing, etc.

We participate in as many extra opportunities with our kids as we can. Although, at certain times of the year there is not much extra time.
